The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary is the uniformed volunteer component of the United States Coast Guard created by an Act of Congress in 1939. The Auxiliary, America’s Volunteer Lifesavers, support the Coast Guard in nearly all of the service’s missions.

    What an incredible photograph! The shading, the placement of the trinity of figures, grouped symbolically around the dark emppty space! The blinding white coffee cup offset by the white papers on the board to the upper right! A true classic!

    That photo is pure poetry of light! Such colors! Such contrast of light and dark! Such playful gradation of the men’s hair color from black to grey-black to all grey! Such framing of the 3 characters by the curved outside arms! What stunning composition! Wunderbar!
