The National committee  selected Auxiliarist Smeal to receive this award for her outstanding performance in 2011 and 2012. Anna spent  thousands of hours visiting boat dealers to educate the public about  recreational boating and vessel examinations. With her drive, she has made a significant impact on  the National Recreational Boating Safety Program.

Ms.Smeal’s dedication, judgement and devotion to duty are most heartily  commended and are in keeping with the highest tradition of the United State Coast Guard.
