Celebrating Our Auxiliary’s 75th Anniversary Around the Nation

On June 23, 2014, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliarists around the nation will be celebrating the Auxiliary’s 75th Anniversary. Many local flotillas will be having special events and open houses to meet the public and inform them about the Auxiliary and Boating Safety.

Here are highlights of just some of the special events honoring the Auxiliary around the nation:

 

Michigan – The Michigan State Senate declared that June 23, 2014 will be U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Day for the entire State of Michigan.

New York – The Empire State Building will be lit in USCG Auxiliary colors on the night of June 23, 2014. In addition, the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Band, will be holding a free concert in Northport, NY on June 22, 2014.

Pennsylvania – A party will be held at Penn’s Landing on Saturday June 21, 2014. There will be two historic Coast Guard boats restored into Auxiliary service among other Auxiliary facilities available for public tours.

Oregon – A public celebration will be held at Columbia River Maritime Museum in Astoria on June 23rd.

    USCG Aux Flotilla 5-2 of Springfield, MO will have a Picnic this evening at Lake Springfield, in Springfield MO starting at 1700 this evening. Semper Paratus!!! Happy 75th!

    USCG Auxiliary 15-8 Hernando Beach Florida will be having an open house on Saturday June 21 from 1000 to 1600 hrs. Our partner businesses, local first responders and local marine law enforcement will be joining us with displays of equipment and man power. There will be fun for the whole family and our Galley will be open. Semper Paratus and Bravo Zulu for 75 great years.
