From the Commandant: Happy Holidays as we close this remarkable year

Sunday, December 24, 2017

To the men and women of our Coast Guard,

Fran and I wish each of you – all 88,000 active duty, Reserve, civilian, retired and Auxiliary – a joyous holiday and the very best of New Years. Together we have accomplished so much, and it is fitting the spirit of charity and fellowship that accompanies the holiday season caps this remarkable year for our U.S. Coast Guard.

While 2017 is drawing to a close, the sun does not set on our U.S. Coast Guard. During the holidays and throughout the year, dedicated men and women are deployed around the globe safeguarding our security and prosperity – please remember those who find themselves separated from home and family as we hope for their safe and swift return.

I am proud to lead the brave men and women of this armed force who selflessly give and sacrifice in service to Nation. So for this year and into the next, let there be peace on earth and goodwill towards all.

Semper Paratus.

Adm. Paul F. Zukunft and Mrs. Fran DeNinno-Zukunft
