The recent promotion of Captain Linda Fagan to Rear Admiral, resulted in a behind the scenes effort by the U. S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.  Following the ceremony was a reception in Rear Admiral Fagan’s honor, held at the Commanding Officer’s home, high on the hill overlooking USCG Station NY, with picturesque views of New York Harbor.

Article by Auxiliarist Zachary Strauss, with contributions by Auxiliarist Gerard Andrews

Instead of the customary use of USCG Culinary Services, Rear Admiral Fagan chose the U. S. Coast Guard Auxiliary AUXCHEF’s to plan and prepare the banquet.  A team of AUXCHEF members were assembled to help prepare a feast fit for the new Rear Admiral and her distinguished guests.  As  AUXCHEF Instructor/ Coordinator , Zachary Strauss,  I  led the effort.  The team of  qualified AUXCHEFs supporting the evolution were Auxiliarists Michael Himes, Michael McAllister, John Kiernan, Anthony Carter, Norberto Perez and Jeanne Audino, in training for qualification as AUXCHEF.

Outstanding job, BZ to the AUXCHEFs.
